Hypozo

❓ FAQ

Answers to the questions we get most often

Is Hypozo really free? +

Yes. You can use every calculator without an account and at no cost. Ads keep the site running, and they never appear inside the calculator itself.

Are my numbers stored? +

Not by us. Everything is calculated in your own browser. Your last inputs are kept only on your device, so you can carry on later. The Clear button in the calculator removes them.

How up to date are the amounts? +

We use the 2026 rules: the maximum rent increase (4.1% social from 1 July, 6.1% mid-rent, 4.4% free sector), the 2026 housing benefit amounts, mortgage interest relief of at most 37.56% and the borrowing amounts for energy upgrades. Each calculator lists its source and the date we last checked it.

Is the result advice? +

No. It is an estimate based on the numbers you enter and the general rules. Your lender, the Tax Administration or a certified mortgage advisor may arrive at a different amount, for example because of your contract terms or personal situation.

Will the penalty match my lender exactly? +

Often it comes close, but not always exactly. Lenders differ in the share you may repay penalty-free and in the comparison rate. You can change both in the calculator. For a final amount, always ask your lender for a quote.

Is the housing benefit result what I will receive? +

It is an estimate for 2026. Whether you get housing benefit and how much is decided by the Benefits Agency (Dienst Toeslagen) based on your actual income, savings and household. Not sure? Run a trial calculation with Dienst Toeslagen.

Can I use Hypozo as an expat? +

Absolutely. Every calculator works in Dutch and English, and you can type amounts the way you are used to: 2.500,50 or 2,500.50.
